Pygmy Jerboa is the tiniest rodent and that only increases our love for it!
That little fluff ball deserves all your hugs but uhmm, control yourself because you might suffocate it!
The adults grow up to 44 cm in body length with the tail making for about 8cm.
With such a small size, this cutie can run with a speed of 15 miles per hour…fast!

You’d obviously want to pet it because adorable is the word!
Homopus signatus is the smallest specie of tortoise, so you know it is special in its own way!
Found in South Africa and southern Namibia, the speckled tortoise weighs about 3.4-5.8 oz (1 oz = 0.028 kg) and has hundreds of black spots on its orange-brown shell.
Unlike most humans, these tiny friends are early risers so you’ll wake up to a cheerful toto, now that’s perfecto!

This one is with an average length of about 10cm is found on the Caribbean Island of Barbados and as the name suggests, it is very thin but not as thin as a thread.
Maybe like a spaghetti noodle but comparing these two won’t be a good idea, yippee we have just decoded the story behind naming it!

The smallest mouse lemur is also the smallest primate in the world with an average length of 9.2cm.
This little cutie comes to you with a feather like weight of 1.1 oz (1 oz = 0.028 kg), light enough to handle we guess!
Discovered in the dry deciduous forest in western Madagascar in 1992, it is named after the conservationist, Berthe Rakotosamimanana.
So who’s heading to Madagascar to spot this baby?

Well it is barely larger than a bee, shocked?
The Bee Hummingbird is a swift and strong flier but that is OBVIOUSLY not why we have put her on the list!
Females are as large as 6.1cm long while the males reach barely 5.5cm, also the ladies in this case are heavier, standing at about 0.092 oz (1 oz = 0.028 kg) in contrast to the males at 0.069 oz.
We know that wasn’t much of a contrast but whoa, are they tiny!

Yea it sits at 0.063 oz! (1 oz = 0.028 kg) 
Well it can also be called as foodie and daring specie.
Would you believe us if we say it can eat about twice its own body weight?
Amazing metabolism we could say!
Length wise also it isn’t a giant, with only a 4cm long stature!
This dude feeds on insects but it has the capacity to hunt down individuals with the same size.
That is some guts!

Bats aren’t supposed to be cute but we warned you about creepy little creatures, didn’t we?
The bumblebee bats as they are commonly known as are found in Thailand and southeast Myanmar.
Weighing at just 0.071 oz (1 oz = 0.028 kg), these creatures make for the smallest bat species around!
Growing up to 29-33 mm in length, these tiny tots are tiny enough to be called the smallest mammals by size of skull and body length!
Another interesting fact is that they live in colonies with about 100 individuals per cave… closely knit we could say!

3. Brookesia Micra Chameleon

Victim of insular dwarfisim, Brookesia Micra is the smallest chameleon species!
The adults can grow upto 29mm… pretty small!
This tinnie Minnie was found by a team of researchers from the Bavarian State Collection of Zoology after 8 years of expeditions in the Madagascar forests.
Keeping the size in mind, 8 years sounds just quick!
Imagine it sitting on a match stick.
Yea people, it is THAT small!
But we might lose it to extinction, all thanks to illegal logging in the forests!

There is a high chance that if you come face to face with this fish, you won’t even see it!
Yea people, it is THAT tiny after all it is just 10 mm in length!
The transparent bodies sans normal features of an adult fish won’t help you either!
Paedocypris progenetica is said to be the smallest species of fish and vertebrate in the world.
Also it can stand a pH as acidic as 2.9 so surviving a drought is no biggie for them!
Now isn’t that amazing?

A relatively new discovery of the smallest specie of frogs, Paedophryne amanuensis was listed in the Top 10 New Species 2013 by the International Institute for Species Exploration.
There is another special thing about this little froggy, it is considered the smallest known vertebrate!
Well, what less can you expect when it reaches no more than 7.7 mm in length?
Such a tiny creature but can jump 30 times its body length, whoa…nature is mind blowing!
