List of the top 10 movies from 2020 so far
This list contains movies that came out or will come out in 2020.
So, let's dig in
10. The Gentlemen
With probably the biggest cast of 2020, it’s a movie about Mickey Pearson who is an American expatriate who became rich by building a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he's looking to cash out of the business, it soon triggers an array of plots and schemes -- including bribery and blackmail -- from shady characters who want to steal his domain.
9. The King of Staten Island
A semi-autobiographical comedy-drama about Pete Davidson growing up in Staten Island, including losing his father during 9/11 and entering the world of stand up comedy.
8. Bad Education
The film tells the incredible true story of the biggest school embezzlement scandal in American history, which took place in the New York school district of Roslyn in the mid-2000s. Both Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney play complicated, three-dimensional characters full of vulnerabilities, and the actors do full justice to their roles.
7. Enola Holmes
When Enola Holmes—Sherlock’s teen sister—discovers her mother missing, she sets off to find her as she outwits her famous brother and unravels a dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord.
6. Eurovision
Of course we had to include a comedy. This movie actually turned out to be a surprisingly emotional and thoughtful story of hope, love, and pride. You definitely need Will Ferrell in a blonde wig with a bad Scandinavian accent making fun of American's.
5. Project Power
A former soldier teams up with a cop to find the source behind a dangerous pill that provides temporary superpowers.
4. The devil all the time
Sinister characters converge around a young man devoted to protecting those he loves in a postwar backwoods town teeming with corruption and brutality. Starring Tom Holland, and Robert Pattinson.
3. The Way Back
Ben Affleck's latest movie was a slam-dunk with critics and fans alike. It tells the story of an alcoholic former basketball star living a ruined and sad life, who eventually embarks on coaching his alma mater to regain a slightly better life.
2. Palm Springs
When carefree Nyles and reluctant maid of honor Sarah have a chance encounter at a Palm Springs wedding, things get complicated when they find themselves unable to escape the venue.
1. I'm thinking of ending things
From Oscar winner Charlie Kaufman. The plot goes like this. Despite second thoughts about their relationship, a young woman takes a road trip with her new boyfriend to his family farm. Trapped at the farm during a snowstorm with Jake’s parents, the young woman begins to question the nature of everythin she knew or understood about her boyfriend, herself, and the world.
